how dose one acquire allodynia not having shingles?!
Question: How dose one acquire allodynia not having shingles?
First proson to answer with a internet link and a good answer 5 stars
Answers:
Well allodynia could arise from nerve damage caused by herpes zoster (chicken pox virus/shingles). After getting chicken pox, the virus lives dormant in your nerves. The virus can reemerge and reactivate due to various reasons and the typical burning sensation, itchniess, and pain associated with shingles and/or blisters will result. You could just get the burning sensation caused by nerve damage and not the blisters. If there is no rash, it is called zoster sine herpete, which is still a form of shingles.
Hope this helps! Of course there could be a myriad of reasons pain can arise so the best person to ask would be your doctor.
