I am hypoglycemic...Is that the same or different than being diabetic?!

Question: I am hypoglycemic...Is that the same or different than being diabetic?
Answers:

It's different.

Untreated diabetes is defined as hyperglycemia, elevated blood glucose levels. Hypoglycemia is lower then normal blood glucose levels. Now, once a diabetic gets treatment and is using meds to help control their blood glucose, they can have accute hypoglycemia, because of exercise, taking too much medication, not eating enough carbs, etc, but that's because of the diabetes treatment, and is not the same as the (I'm assuming) chronic hypoglycemia you've been diagnosed with.

hypoglycemic is a abnormally low level of sugar in the blood. and it is the body's inability to properly handle the large amounts of sugar that the average american consumes today. it's an overload of sugar, alcohol, caffeine, tobacco and stress. also the low blood sugar of today is the diabetes of tomorrow. by Dr. Seale Harris M.D. this is the definition that i got from the the internet. you can on line and ask what is hypoglycemia and it will tell you anything that you want to know
