Question: I was told i have high risk hpv,how likely am i to have cervical cancer?

I got a call the other day that my pap had come back abnormal,which has never happened before.The nurse told me that i had HPV and it was the high-risk kind and that i have to go and get tests done.Now i am worried sick because i am scared i have cervical cancer.I just wanted to know if the high risk kind is usually cancer or could it be something else that caused the abnormal pap?

Hi well be guided by what the tests have shown by Doctors,it may not be as severe as u think even so can be treated relatively easy ,so don't panic Ok Cheers ?
