Do I have a Sinus Infection?!

Question:

Do I have a Sinus Infection?

These are my symptoms:

Eyes are puffy and swolen
Cant wear glasses because they are hurting sitting on my nose
I keep getting really hot, then really cold
Nose is really stuffed up and is worse at night
My eyes feel as if they are burning
Headache and light headedness
Eyes are tearing and red

I generally have allergies so i am not sure if I really need to go to the doctor and I don't wanna go for no reason and to be told I have allergies, in which case I already know. Also I a week or so ago I had to go and buy contacts because my glasses were bothering me when they were sitting on my nose.
Thanks for any help!

Answers:

With a sinus infection your nose will be extremely stuffy...like you can really only breathe through your mouth kind of stuffy. The other sign is the color of the mucus...if it's clear...no infection...any other color would more than likely indicate infection.

I used to get them quite often and took antibiotics to treat. I really didn't like having to take the antibiotics because I didn't want to build up an immunity to them.

What I do when I feel the symptoms of allergies coming on is to increase my water consumption and reduce or eliminate dairy (milk, cheese, ice cream). It has worked well for me and I haven't taken antibiotics in years.

Okay, I'm not a Dr. or anything, but the other thing I will do is take Airborne (the effervescent tablet you dissolve in water)...it's basically a vitamin with minerals and some other ingredients.

Anyway, if it doesn't subside soon or on it's own, you may need to see your Dr.

Hope that helps.
