I may be opening a can of worms here...?!

Question: I may be opening a can of worms here...?
In one of the previous questions, someone asked if the soon to be ex was going to be happy with his mistress after they move in, and one of the answers was: God does not bless adulterous marriages, thats why 85% of second marriages end in divorce. So here is a simple math question, why did 100% of their first marriages end if God blessed them? According to this statistic, those getting a second marriage have a 15% better chance of making it!

Answers:

Good point... I think that God gives humans the right of free will to make our own choices and deal with the consequences of our actions... He's got more important things to worry about than all of our marriages and if we're screwing them up. Put feet to your prayers... :)

Second marriages do statistically fail at a higher rate than first marriages. But it has nothing to do with God's blessing or lack thereof. People often remarry for the wrong reasons. Usually it has to do with not being lonely. Sometimes they end up missing the original spouse and try to find someone that shares character traits in common, only to remember later why they divorced the first time. Also, the first divorce is very scary. They don't know what to expect, how the legal stuff works, how alimony and splitting of assets goes. On the second try, they usually don't have as much patience for nonsense and aren't as afraid to just get out of it. All very sad really.
