I agree with the others (take note, Doreen).

When I was growing up in the sixties, taxes were less and government services were better. Today, taxes are higher (with far more people paying them) and government services are poorer. There's a lesson to be learned there.

I think healthy eating should be encouraged in much the same way as new automobile drivers are encouraged to drive well. Proper education and training. Part of that training should include showing them what's going to happen to their bodies if they embark on a life of convenience foods. Watching my mother die from (type 2) diabetes was all the incentive I needed. When I became diabetic, at first I listened to my doctor. When I realized that wasn't getting me where I wanted to go, I studied nutrition and physical conditioning as it applies to diabetics. The result was phenomenal. I was able to suppress all the symptoms and quit taking all of the medication. If I eat junk food today, I start to feel poorly again. As long as I stay with healthy foods and stay physically active, I feel great.

Now then, let's say that paying the doctor was more or less equivalent to paying higher taxes. Did that encourage me to eat healthy? No, it caused me to have to pay more for medication. Once I learned how to take care of myself, the incentive to stay on course was feeling good and saving a ton of money (so that I can afford to pay the ridiculous taxes the government takes from me).

That's what we don't need : more government intervention .

Go live in Yemen if you want the government to tell you how to run your life.

no!! as a matter of fact our state had a referendum on this new tax that we voted out of law.
you cannot regulate behaviour

I assume you're looking for someone to do your homework for you!?
