Anyone got a good sore throat cure?!

Question: Anyone got a good sore throat cure?
apparently, I always get sick on vacations. -.- Go figure.
I have a sore throat (it hurts to swallow a little bit and my voice is incredibly hoarse. I have a slight fever (with a temperature of 101.5 F) and a stuffed nose. It's so bad that I can't sleep in the night. I can't go to the doctor because of the holidays. I take demetap (I think that's how you spell it) and antibiotic tablets for the fever. Anyone got any suggestions on how to make me feel better , and what I might have? Please and thank you!

Answers:

GArgling with salted warm water (just add salt to warm water) tends to help the sore throat. There's a nasty flu bug going round, so you may have that. It tends to take from 7 to 10 days to shake it. At it's most sever, some people have been hospitalized.

well if you are taking antibiotics and its not helping then what you have is a viral infection. Or antibiotics that are not effective for that particular bug.

Take Tylenol for the pain and fever
Take salt water and gargle it

Take garlic extra in your food and add lemon to all of your water

Speaking of water drink a lot of it. It may help to use hot water, in herbal teas not black ones or green ones, and add honey to the tea
A lot a sore throat doesn't want cold drinks, so use warm broth or tea or warm water and that will make it easier.

If it's a cold, I always try drinking a hot honey, lemon and ginger. Stick a teaspoon of honey in a mug, with some lemon juice/slices of lemon and ginger powder/root ginger. It helps me, the honey soothes the throat and the lemon and ginger help make you feel better. It's good for when you feel like you're getting a cold too
