Taking multi enzymes with Nexium?!

Question: Taking multi enzymes with Nexium?
I've been on Nexium for years...prescription Pepcid before that. I've been told by a variety of people that taking a "multi-enzyme" is beneficial and some say can even lead to getting off the other drugs.

I was wondering if taking my daily Nexium in any way negates the positive effect of the enzymes?

I am also taking DGL (chewable licorice---ick....awful) and taking aloe vera gel (ick...awful).

Does anyone have any experiences with these treatments?

Thank you for your response!

Answers:

Yes, unfortunately my mother was on nexium for 5 years for severe GERD and LPR and the side effects were almost fatal. Also, she has suffered gastritis for 25 years and was taking tagment on and off for 20 years prior to changing over to nexium.

My mother is now free of severe GERD and LPR after i threw away nexium and gaviscon and put her on digestive enzyme supplements and another supplement with betaine hydrochloride and pepsin to improve stomach acid. Most people who suffer acid reflux issues have LOW stomach acid/lack of enzymes in the diet or both. A bit of trial and error but within two weeks GERD and LPR were gone. She continues to take enzymes with meals and one year on, gastritis is 90% better.

Lowering stomach acid is detrimental to health and finally the FDA have now figured it out and put out a statement last year to only take PPI's like nexium and prilosec up to 14 days, 3 times a year.
