Interpretation of hemagglutination test?!


Question: Interpretation of hemagglutination test?
A child suspected of having amoebiasis underwent hemagglutination test, and the result was >1:4000. What does it mean? Need help. Urgent. Thanks! :)

HA test is to measure antibody,antigens or virus.In your case is to measure amoeba.It is antigen if add special to amoeba antibody attached RBC the agglutination will happen.In your case this happen in such diluted solution 1;4000 and we consider is positive, it means amoeba is there.Simple explanation is when body invade by amoeba antibodies will developed which will attached to RBC If use this RBC add to a suspected blood, if the antigen(aoeoba).there then the reaction will happen.
