sunburn/damage wont go? :(?!

Question: Sunburn/damage wont go? :(?
last summer i went to spain and stupidly used factor 15 instead of 40
- i have fair skin..
so i got pretty burn and then it sort of turned brown, though the red/brown tan is only on the front of my legs and its uneven :/
still now in february i have the marks on my legs!
i hate it so much and get really self conscious wearing skirts with no tights, so i have to wear 2 or 3 pairs of skin tights when i'd rather have natural legs and be wearing none.
does anyone know how i can get rid of the marks and if it is just permanent damage that will never go away or will it eventually fade?

thankyou so much for helpful answers! :)

Try ex-foliating every shower day with a loofah and ex-foliating shower gel. You can even find natural exfolient recipes on-line including crushed coffee beans (which also reduces cellulite and water retention), salt (a skin clarifier) or sugar (helps the dead skin come lose).
Lemon juice has bleaching agents and if used regularly may reduce the marks over time.
If all else fails have a look on-line for products and make sure you read their reviews to ensure they work.
Then if that fails go and see your doctor or a skin specialist.
Oh ye, and look for products with AHA in it (alpha hydroxy acid) It is derived from fruit and its a strong exfoliant.
Remember, don't scrub yourself raw! it will only cause more damage and these things take time so give each method at least a month and monitor it, if there is improvement continue if not try something else.
Hope this helps and remember everyone is do caught up with themselves to care about how your legs look and as long as you look happy and send of a positive aura then people will always warm up to you and love you ;D

If you don't want to wear tights then try evening out your skin tone with a good fake tan after ex-foliating and moisturising thoroughly.
Also there are amazing brands such as dermaskin that provide body make-up which may also help you ^_^

I have a beauty therapy diploma and have done a lot of research over the years.
