Have tonsilitis and can't swallow?!

Question: Have tonsilitis and can't swallow?
I have a really clammy headache, im salivating to the extent my mouth is full of spit and my eyes are sore. My throat hurts and I keep getting the random urge to cry.

I have had ice cream, and I feel phlegmy. I tried drinking juice and coughed it up and I can't swallow. I'm on penicillin antibiotics, but I can't swallow them without them being caught I my throat. :(

Any tips?

Answers:

My tonsils used to be the same way (then they decided to take them out). Avoid milk, juice and ice cream. I know they're delicious, but they also make your mucous thicker. Try sucking on an ice cube before swallowing your pill and wash it down with a full glass of water. Make sure you keep your electrolytes up (gatorade will do the trick).

If that doesn't work, crush the pill up and mix it with a little applesauce. You'll be able to taste it (ick), but it may help it go down better. Just make sure to eat all off the applesauce.
