No, this is not normal. You should call your physician and let him/her know. You may have an underlying lung disease. Are you on any blood thinners like Coumadin/Warfarin? If your blood is too thin, then you may cough up blood and your medicine may need to be adjusted. Have you had a cold for an extended period of time and may have some esophageal (throat) irritation from coughing a lot? Have you recently gotten a procedure like a bronchoscopy or EGD? Your throat may be a little irritated, but if it continues, you should notify the physician who did the procedure. What's a "little" blood anyway? I'm a RN and I get a broad spectrum of what "a little" means to people. Definately get this checked out.
