You have it a little mixed up. You would only give your partner genital herpes if you give him oral sex while you have a break out of cold sores, which are caused by the oral herpes virus. Just because you have genital herpes that doesn't mean you have it orally too. Genital herpes usually only affects the genitals. It's very rare to pass genital herpes to the mouth.
It's safe for you to give oral sex as long as you don't have herpes on your mouth. Don't let your partner give you oral sex and don't have intercourse when you have a break out.
If you want to reduce your chances of passing it then you may want to consider taking antiviral medication regularly and avoid having intercourse or oral sex while you have any signs of a break out.

Well. Unless you have licked your own genitals or have made any contact with your mouth and va-jay-jay, the only way your partner can receive the herpes is if your herpes have somehow transferred from your cooter to your mouth, or if your partner is cheating on another herpe person.

LOL JK
but no you're fine. your genital herpes literally cant reach your mouth and wont ever be in your mouth, just be sure to wash your hands good and all that jazz. but you should be fine. go give your man the BJ he's been waiting for and make him proud!
