Question: How long does it take to get an STD?
Today, while whipping after using the bathroom, I noticed I had discharged an almost flem-like substance. It was big, slimy, sticky...clear edges, but a bit of dark yellow in the middle. I don't think I have an STD because I have only ever slept with one guy, and we have been sleeping together for over a year. Neither of us have had any other sexual partners within that time. So, if I were to get a STD, wouldn't I have gotten it a lot sooner?

It can take only minutes of having intercourse to get an std. Some times stds can lie dormant for long periods of time, you could have gotten it from him or a previous partner.
If you think you have an std you should see a doctor or visit an std testing clinic. If any thing does come up you should talk to your current partner and ask them to get tested.
