I keep feeling water pouring on my leg, but it's always nothing. Would this!

Question: I keep feeling water pouring on my leg, but it's always nothing. Would this qualify as a hallucination?
I keep seriously thinking water is pouring on my shin. Then, my leg always feels like there are drops of water streaming down my leg, extremely believably. I keep trying to ignore it and tell myself that it's nothing, but it always gets to the point where I think I'm not imagining it and it really bothers me, so I always roll up my pant leg and absolutely nothing is there. My leg is not wet, and neither are my pants.
Lately I've also occasionally had my vision go black when I stand up, followed by a burning sensation in my eyes and back of my head. I have to sit out of my gym class because I get headaches and feel woozy.
What is going on?

Answers:

A hallucination is the experience via one or more of the five senses of something which is not actually there. I think that the sensations in your leg are real and caused perhaps by a trapped or damaged nerve. I suffered similarly with the constant feeling that something was sticking into the back of my leg. Eventually I felt as though I was walking on the side of my foot, although looking at my feet this was not the case. The condition has improved with medication, a change in posture and-for me at least- a reduction in my weight. Now I take no medicine and the condition comes and goes. The thing that worries me about what you describe are the neurological symptoms. These may well be linked to the sensations in your legs or an unwanted side effect of your medication but I really think it would be a good idea for you to see a doctor . Be honest about the phantom sensations in your legs and how annoying it is too- you don't deserve to be worrying about that along with everything else. We all tend to play down the severity of symptoms when we visit the doctor but you must be honest- these symptoms need investigating. Take care- I assure you you aren't going mad, and I hope the doctor is able to give you some piece of mind.
