What degree burn do I have?!

Question:

What degree burn do I have?

So, last friday i was working and I burnt myself on the kitchen's oven. I think the oven is around 500 degrees. My hand got stuck on it for like 4 seconds. It was a really bad burn. First it got white, then one part of it had a big blister, but then i put that hand in my pocket which popped the blister. it is about a 1 inch burn across the bottom of two knuckles. is it a 2nd degree or 3rd degree? My boss (executive chef) said its not that big of a deal. maybe im just a *****, but it hurts like a *****. thanks for ur info!

Answers:

It sounds like a secon degree burn. You might want to cover it to keep the air off it for a day or two.Usually but not always third degree burns usually involve nerve damage, which may numb pain.Use an antibiotic ointment before covering.
