Gallbladder surgery?!

Question:

Gallbladder surgery?

I am just curious as to what the details are of gallbladder surgery. (Please dont cut and paste from some stupid website I want personal experience opinion) I have been having vague abdominal pains on the upper right side for a couple of months and have had blood tests and an upper GI done. They were all normal. Now Im due for an ultrasound and I have a sneaky suspicion that its my gallbladder. So how evasive is the surgery? how long does it take to recover? how long does it take? how long are you in the hospital?

Answers:

I had gall bladder surgery a few years back. It's not too bad - a little painful for a week or so. The procedure requires three small incisions in various areas of the upper abdomen, and one that is actually through the navel. I didn't have any problems after my surgery, and the scars are very small. However, I have noticed I get heartburn alot easier since, and my uncle also noticed the same after his gall bladder surgery. I hope things turn out well for you.
