Can diabetics donate blood?!
Question: Can diabetics donate blood?
Answers:
Awww..Your good intentions are in the right place dear, but I'm not really sure if you'd be able to donate blood or not dear. You'd have to speak with your doctor to be for sure.I too wanted to give blood many times I've wanted to,but I happen to have an auto immune disease(lupus) so I can't.My rheumatologist told me when I'm asymptomatic( in remission) I would be able to donate my blood. But,I still wouldn't feel comfortable doing so...I'd be worried that I might transfer my disease onto someone else. But,your heart is in the right place dear...and that is all that matters.Right? I have an idea for you...Next year when the blood drive comes..why not volunteer yourself, help raise awareness for your schools blood drive. You can help with any decorations they may have, and you can help with setting the place up...there are so many things that you can do to involve yourself in your schools blood drive next year..or even this year is there is still time.Listen? Just because you can't involve yourself in one way? Doesn't mean you can get yourself involved in many other ways. You can always ak your doctor about possible options..as I may be wrong.I was told I could donate when I was in remission..so you really never know your chances until you speak with your doctor.I wish you all the best...and have a wonderful time with your schools blood drive.
No :( cause I wanted to do it at my high school blood drive and they wouldn't let me because of my diabetes. I really wanted to, too.
