HBV Vaccination... How many shots and at what intervals?!

Question:

HBV Vaccination... How many shots and at what intervals?

Hi,

I live in Thailand, and recently had a blood test. They said I had no HBV antibodies, and gave me a shot. They told me to come back in a week for the second, and last, shot. I was concerned about their protocol being correct. I don't trust Thai hospitals much - they're all about making money - not patient well-being. I think they told me to come back in 1 week believing me to be a tourist, so they wanted to get me back in before I left town, and they lost money. The protocol they gave me directly contradicts what I've searched out on the internet. Can anyone give me the exact answer? I would appreciate it. Would the protocol they prescribed be dangerous? ineffective? Or what?

Thanks,

Jeffrey
