What's with all these lawsuit commercials for Avandia?!

Question: What's with all these lawsuit commercials for Avandia?
I take care of my elderly mother, who is diabetic, and took Avandia a couple of years ago. I know this b/c I was the one to fill her mountain of prescriptions. She isn't doing too good and I saw commercials that say Avandia causes heart attacks and strokes and heart failure.

Is this real? Are there a lot of people that had heart attacks and strokes and heart failure because they took avandia? My mom's had two heart attacks a couple years ago and did have to have bypass surgery, should I get her involved? It would help pay for some bills.

Answers:

Yes this is very real, and from what it sounds like your mother would be a potential candidate. The FDA put a Black Box Warning label on Avandia in Nov. 2007 warning that the drug increased the risk of certain Cardiovascular injuries including heart attack, stroke, and sudden cardiac death - also heart failure and congestive heart failure exacerbation.

The firm I work for is finally preparing the settlement list to submit to the courts! (Yay!) Our 2000+ clients have all come from referring counsel - the guys who run commercials and advertisements - we just do all the leg work... Like medical records, settlement negotiating, and everything else.

Contact an attorney that specializes in these types of cases and claims. Hopefully you bills will get paid for.

Did a bit of research and found out that this is indeed happening, GlaxoSmithKline Plc. the makers of the drug has already paid a lot of affected victims through court settlements.. If you think that your mother was indeed afflicted with side effects, then you might want to talk to a lawyer to find out if you have a case.. I included a link to a page i found while i was researching, it has all the updates on the drug as well as a toll free number for a free consultation with their lawyers.. hope this helps..
