Went to a concert, stood next to the smoke machine - now I can't stop cough!

Question: Went to a concert, stood next to the smoke machine - now I can't stop coughing?
Just a constant tickle in my throat, a pretty dry cough. I feel the need to cough WHILE I'm eating a cough drop, they aren't doing anything for me today. I'm starting to get a headache from it - how can I kill this cough? Thanks!

Answers:

Try drinking tea with honey and lemon. Whenever i drink that my throat feels much more clear. Take an ibuprofen also.

that wasn't too bright. those things can be very harmful, even toxic. depending on how they generated the smoke, you were breathing dry ice, or liquid nitrogen. you have frostbite in your throat. you have basically destroyed the cilia in your esophagus. probably should talk to your doctor if it's that bad. he will probably question your intelligence, but can prescribe something to help.

don't do that again.

The esophagus does not have cilia as it goes to the stomach. The trachea has cilia. See your doctor. He will probably give you a cough suppressant to let your body heal itself, then ask you to follow up in a few weeks to make sure you are better.

experience, I have asthma and have had all kinds of stuff irritate my lungs

**** your whole family. i did it and it felt good. make sure not to get anyone pregnant.:)
