Can I get herpes by touching someones clean wet cloths who has it herpes?!

Question: Can I get herpes by touching someones clean wet cloths who has it herpes?
My friend has herpes and she washes her cloths at my house underwear included. I move her cloths all the time to the washing machine to the drier. I know herpes is usually spread from skin to skin contract but I want to be on the safe side.

Answers:

I understand your concern but the herpes simplex virus is a very fragile virus and cannot live outside of the body for long periods of time. Once it's exposed to air it usually dies immediately. I will give you one piece of information for you to consider...there has been one study that found the virus to live on a wet towel for 4 hours after use but the conditions were perfect and conditions are rarely perfect in normal life. However there have been many, many studies that have found that the opposite to be true.

In short, the only time that I would be a little bit cautious is touching the wet towel of your friend immediately after he/she dries off...and only when they are experiencing an outbreak. But in order for the virus to be transmitted to you, you would have to immediately touch yourself or had an open sore on your hand. The virus enters your system through open sores or through mucous membranes.

Don't worry! I've been in a loving relationship for over 10 years and my partner is still "herpes free" and we do a lot more than wash clothes!

-.- If your so worried about it, ask your damn friend instead of going behind her back. OR you could just make your friend do it herself. And no, stupid, you can't. Try actually going to a medical site instead of a place where you can really get misinformed. Majority rules- not always accurate by a long shot.

lol, to answer your question no you can't contract Herpes like that, it has to be sexual or like u stated skin to skin contact. If your worried you contracted Herpes http://getstdtested.com/ can test you for both Oral & Genital Herpes.
