I'm 13, do I have testicle cancer?!? I'm really scared.?!

Question: I'm 13, do I have testicle cancer?!? I'm really scared.?
Right, a couple of months ago, I noticed a small hard lump inside my scrotum, I didn't really think about it, but a few weeks ago, I decided to check again to see if it was still there, and it is! On closer inspection, it seems to be connected to the testicle by a thin veiny shaped thing.

I know that just 4% of testicle lumps are cancerous and that, given my age, my chances are possible lowered? But, to be honest, I am ******** myself. I an really really worried, I havnt told anybody and I'm to scared to go and see a doctor, can anyone advise me any further on what it could be?

Thanks

Answers:

I'm a testicular cancer survivor and suggest you do the self-exam for testicular cancer, or “man exam.” Symptoms vary greatly from man to man, but testicle bumps are common symptoms. And TC is the #1 cancer for men 15-35. The sooner a doctor can catch it the better the prognosis, and most likely the less treatment will be required. It could also be a blocked vein, infection, or benign cyst, but all of those things also need a doctor's attention. Don't worry till you have to - only a doctor can make an accurate diagnosis! This site has links to credible testicular cancer resources, and shows the self-exam with a list of symptoms. Good luck and hopefully it's nothing serious.

I know you're scared; I am the same way. Honestly, you should tell your parents. If it is cancerous (and it may not be) it is very good to check just to be sure. It's always the earlier the better. My grandmother had breast cancer, but because they were able to attack it early, they were able to get rid of it before it spread. Don't worry. Just relax, and assume it's probably nothing. The doctor should check though, just to verify that it is infact, nothing. Alrighty then, good luck!

Its unlikely to be cancer at your age but definatley go and see a doctor about it as it could be numerous causes.

Talk to Dad or Mom and then get it checked out.
