VEGETARIANS: if everyone stopped eating meat wouldn't those animals become extin!

Question:

VEGETARIANS: if everyone stopped eating meat wouldn't those animals become extinct?

Don't get me wrong- I'm vegetarian.
But I am curious about this.

Answers:

Logically,if every one becomes vegetarian, most of animal species would have population explosion. At some stage, earth's resources would not be able to feed them and in obedience to the 'law of survival',some of them have to turn non vegetarian ie meat eaters.Gradually, the number of meat eating animals shall increase and at some stage, pose a threat to the human beings, particularly by the animals which are stronger and bigger than humans. Without going further and coming back to the issue at hand,it would appear that non vegetarianism is an essential link in the continuity of Food-Chain on the earth.OR, take the case of carnivorous animals like tigers, lions or jackals and we know that their population has no adverse effect on the population of the animals they feed upon.Does it also mean that meat eaters are the balancers of food chain on this earth ?Well,Being an occasional non veg,I better stop now.
