My fasting glucose level is too high?!

Question: My fasting glucose level is too high?
The lab sheet says the range for fasting glucose is 60-99 mg/dL, and my level is 117. Can anyone give me a heads up on what this might mean? I may or may not hear from my doctor, if it is not too big a problem. But does it have anything to do with diabetes? Or my diet?

Answers:

Before you are labeled a diabetic, you should have some more testing done--a Hgb A1C and possibly a glucose tolerance test, and a repeat fasting glucose with it. Make sure you are truly fasting.
