Question: How long can you have chlamydia for and not know it, if you are a man? please help.?

Me and my bf had unprotected sex. And we both ended up with possibly chlamydia. I have talked to him about this, And the first time we had sex i was a virgin. He on the other hand had sex with one other girl last year. Me and him had sex a few times and then he told me it hurt when he peed. Then he went to the E.R and they said it was either chlamydia or a U.T.I. Then they told him to pea in a cup and they didn't even test it. Instead they just treated him as if he had chlamydia. I went to the E.R that same day. Since he had told me he had gotten chlamydia, and they didn't check my urine either. Instead they just gave me a shot and some pills.
And please don't say hes lieing hun or what ever. He is not lieing me and him both know this is a serious matter.

You can have chlamydia forever and not have any symptoms. Why they didn't test you is beyond me that is ridiculous since your BF has only been with one other girl she should be told so she can be tested and stop spreading it since if it is chlamydia he got it from her...if I were you I would make an appointment for the both of you and really be tested...then you will know for sure and be treated correctly...it probably is just a UTI....so go see your doc just treating someone for that is not a proper medical diagnosis....I just cant believe that they did that....
