How come I have this random cough and it sounds as if I'm losing my voice?!

Question: How come I have this random cough and it sounds as if I'm losing my voice?
Other than those symptoms, I feel fine.
Is there anything I could to do to suppress this cough?

Answers:

I have this too. I use Cepacol lozenges to supress the cough and throat pain. It works very well. Make sure you get the one that says "mixed berry" cuz it has the mouth antestetic and DXM in it. You might have to show ID. (18) in Alabama. Get well soon!

I have had these symptoms for a year now.

There could be several reasons for this. How old are you and do you smoke? first, it could be from a Hitel hernia or one that's close, the stomach contents are leaking out into the lower esophagus and up the tube to the voice box or larynx. This will cause you to have a broken voice if nothing else is found. Believe this or not but, chocolate, tea, acidic foods and spices or sauces will cause the same thing along with a leaking into the esophagus. This will cause a cough and flem. Ask your doctor about this, ask him to contact or send you to an ear, throat and stomach doctor.

sounds like your infection is back or you have signs of pneumonia...go to the doctor before it gets worse..
