What medicine should I take to get rid of the flu?!

Question: What medicine should I take to get rid of the flu?
I've had the flu for one week and I'm missing school and work. What do I take I already tried theraflu, penicilin, hot drinks, and nothing is working. What do I take and as a result I have lots of pain.? Help?

Answers:

Take plenty of Vitamin C, B Complex, D, Calcium Magnesium. Drink Plenty of Green Tea, and get a lot of sleep.

Penicillin would not work on the flu, since the flu is a virus and penicillin is an antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections. If you've already had the flu for a week, there isn't much you can take at this point. There are some medicines for the flu, i.e. tamiflu, but you have to start taking them within the first few days of being sick. Your best bet at this point would be to stay in bed and drink plenty of fluids. Feel better!

Penicillin won't work, it's an antibiotic and flu is caused by a virus.
All you can do is assist your body's fight with that virus by resting, drinking plenty, eatin what light nourishing food you can - like home made soup, toast or bread and utter with honey or a savoury spread aso...

Spoil yourself, alleviate symptoms with, say tylenol or ibuprofen
Take an antihistamine to dry up secretions (take pharmacist's advice as some make people drowsy).
Be patient. If you feel worse in a day or two's time give your doctor's office a call.
