what to expect from mole removal surgery?!
Question: What to expect from mole removal surgery?
Answers:
It depends on our doctor. My dermatologist did the operation the same day. The removal is really nothing to worry about. Your dermatologist will give you a very small shot of local anesthetic. Then he will use a very small scalpel (mine used a special curved razor blade) and he will cut the mole off and then scrape a tiny hole out beneath the mole to make sure he got the mole's roots. This should not hurt because the area will be numb. The whole event probably won't take more than 5 minutes. Then he will put some scar cream and a band-aid on and send you on your way. Healing time depends on the size of the mole removed and your body. It will heal about as quickly as a deep scratch would. Definitely within a month everything should be healed up. Also, the dermatologist will send your mole away for testing and you probably won't hear the results for about 2-4 weeks. Good luck and don't worry!
Had several moles removed.
