Kuthi,

You need to be careful about using the mask overnight, especially in frequency. Just because you may not experience side effects such as peeling, burning, desquamation, inflammation, irritation, etc in the short-run does not guarantee that your skin may or may not take damage underneath overnight and cause damage to show later on. I can think of a few reasons as to why you do not feel any side effects... for now:

1) You are oily. Even though the mask was placed overnight, your oil glands produce sebum that comes in contact with the absorbent substances at the surface, which constantly cancel out the drying effect of kaolin, bentonite, talc, zinc oxide, and sulfur combined. Your oil glands may have been triggered by the onset of too much absorbent material, so your they produce more oil to compensate for the loss of oil on the surface. People don't feel when their oil glands are producing oil or not, but you can be sure that, in theory, certain ingredients or concentration of ingredients can irritate the oil glands.

2) When you sleep, your face is in contact with the pillow sheets, thus, transferring some mask material onto the sheets. As a result, you may not have experience a lot of dryness in the morning. You want to change your pillow sheets frequently with or without the use of the mask due to your oily/acne skin.

3) You apply a thin layer of mask that is not enough to cause intense inflammation overnight.

Bottom line: there is no guarantee that you don't "build" inflammation overtime with the use of the Murad mask. Be careful.

Take this example: strong at-home exfoliant such as 20%-30% can be found in the cosmetic industry and can be purchase without a professional. These strength, at the right pH, can cause burning & peeling as it intensive removes dead skin cells. For someone who never used a chemical exfoliant, the first few days (perhaps) will have no bad side effects. Why? The thickened layer of dead skin cells over the years actually protect the skin from UV-ray and the acid, yet it looks cosmetically inelegant (that is why you want to use an exfoliant - to remove that dull look). As day goes by, you epidermis gets thinner and thinner and eventually you develop sensitive to the acid in such strength because they penetrate too deep as there is no longer that layer of dead skin once there a few days before. You then can be sensitive to your synthetic sunscreen and you may blame the sunscreen for stop working when it is actually the acid's doing. That is why with chemical exfoliant, you start low and you should stay low. If you want a chemical peel, give it only a few times PER YEAR.

Be gentle to your skin, I know you want your acne gone. But if you are really developing inflammation for a future flare up, your acne may "look" a lot worse due to the redness, and the irritation built-up and irritate your oil glands to produce more oil and that is only good news for acne bacteria.

Best wishes
