Question: Should I go to the hospital? Flu?

For a week now I've had the flu, when I cough it hurts my chest severly. When I breath it hurts, my body has pain I can't close my eyes it feels like I have needles in them. Last night I started shaking but I controlled it by drinking a tea. Should I go to the hospital? Or not?

I think you should get in touch with your doctor and take his or her advice on whether to go to the hospital. If he/she agrees that what you have sounds like flu and nothing else, you may be advised just to stay home and take something to ease the symptoms. (The doctor will probably tell you the best thing to take. Is there someone who can go to the drugstore for you?) Flu is a viral infection, so it won't respond to antibiotics, and it's contagious--two arguments against going to the hospital. But try to get hold of our doctor and describe your symptoms as precisely as you can.
