Is it true that you shouldn't pop pimples/zits?!

Question: Is it true that you shouldn't pop pimples/zits?
I just seen a commercial..i think it was a clean and clear one. but they said you aren't supposed to pop zits. is that true? And what product that is $15 and under would u personally suggest for acne?

Answers:

Dermatologists recommend that you avoid popping a pimple...it can decrease the healing time if an infected blackhead but also, if not done by a medical expert, create a serious infection by forcing the infection from the epidermis down into the dermis...so, don't. More on acne...Facial Acne is caused by hormonal imbalance, lack or cleanliness, and foods that create high toxicity levels. Bacteria on the epidermis just makes it worse. Start by eliminating all makeup except lips/eyes; wash your face and other affected areas four times a day with mineral soap and water and try and keep your hands off your face as much as possible. Then research/remove all the 'take aways' from your lifestyle and begin adding them back in several-week increments to see which ones are problems for you. These include all processed foods, preservatives, additives, processed dairy, high fat [you can find these listed in any good Acne site] and adjust your diet to include high levels of hydration/fruits/vegetables. All the experts agree that there are good solutions now that do not require expensive drugs and harsh chemicals. Avoid the 'home remedy' type solutons; the only ones that work are simply anti-biotic. Also, don't look for an overnight solution...acne involves complex body chemistry issues and its solution is a process; not an event. The bottom line is this: learn about acne and find out what foods and lifestyle changes work for you not against you. Best of luck...Arlan.

It's true. When you squeeze or push on them the hair follicle ruptures under the skin and they pop upside down. That's why they last so long as a red spot. The two over the counter agents available are benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid. The benzoyl peroxide helps pimples and the sal acid helps blackheads.
