Temperature+Hypothyroidism?!

Question: Temperature+Hypothyroidism?
I have a question.I have hypothyroidism(actually my thyroid doesn't function at all),so my temperature runs normally around 96.8 degrees.I have been sick and I have had a fever of 100 and have been incredibly achey and have felt so bad.I have notice that I start feeling real bad around 99.Is a 100 degree temp just that or since my temperature runs lower is it the equivalent of 102(someone with a normal temperature)?Does this make sense? Thanks in advanced.

Answers:

I hope that you are on Synthroid (or equivalent).

I know what you are saying...I feel like you that when normal is 96.6, then 99 means 101. Most people would not feel as though 'burning up' w/ 99, but I do!

No.Your body temp is just what your thermometer reads. My body temp sometimes is low as yours is,and sometimes it runs normal, but whatever the thermometer reads...that is what your body temp is.Period.Take care.
