I think I get vertigo but my doctor looks at me like I'm a hypochondriac?!

Question: I think I get vertigo but my doctor looks at me like I'm a hypochondriac?
Is vertigo something not respected really in the medical world?

I thought vertigo was something of an inner ear infection. I've always had problems with dizziness...either I get dizzy easily, especially in cars, swings, planes sometimes, boats.
If I'm in water that has a fairly big depth, I typically with vomit later...the pressure of being even just a certain depth will make me very sick, as well as high winds. My ears seem to be partially the catalyst. M aybe it's a two part dizziness. But any iinfo on it would be great.

Or I had one period for two weeks that every time I moved it felt like the world was spinning faster. I almost fell over, got so dizzy I was sick.

I'm never sick, wouldn't classify myself as a hypochondriac...I'm just wondering why my doctor didn't really look into it? I'm an adult, and still get carsick unless I drive. My solution is that I have to drive all of the time, unless I'm just ready to pass out, sleeping helps but I have to really be exhausted for that.

I'm tired of that feeling. But is it a myth? Am I just an easily dizzied person?

I hadn't been to my doctor for about five years prior, again I never get sick. But this dizziness isn't getting better with age, but worse.

Also there are medications and therapy techniques (Epley maneuver) that help,
An experienced ENT doc can be of help.
