Is it advisable to take aspirin everyday for 53 male who never had heart attack?!

Question: Is it advisable to take aspirin everyday for 53 male who never had heart attack?
I am a 53 yrs old male on medication for high b.p.I have just started taking aspirin everyday after my dinner. However I have read somewhere if we never had heart attack or heart disease then we shouldn't take aspirin on everyday base, but I am actually feeling even better after I start taking aspirin.Even with medication my b.p.was little high but now i feel much better.I used to have lots of palpitation during my sleep.now it has almost stoped and i have more energy.so who is right?I or that article said not to take it?

Answers:

If you are physically active, and have no risk factors for a heart attack other than your high BP (eg, smoking, obesity, high cholesterol, family history of heart attack), it's a toss-up whether you should be taking an aspirin daily. With any risk factors, I would recommend the daily aspirin.
If you do continue to take it, be aware that a baby aspirin (82mg) is just as effective as an adult pill (325mg) in preventing heart attacks and stroke, but is less likely to cause stomach problems or internal bleeding.

If you take the 81mg baby aspirin, its fine for anyone to take and still has the benefits for your heart and blood pressure in preventing clots. 81mg of aspirin will not cause any liver toxicity or stomach ulcers.

i have heard both sides.
