I made the mistake of eating an apple today at lunch. I am mildly allergic (oral allergy syndrome- make my mouth/throat/ears itch). Today, however, I broke out in massive hives and my eyes are bright red and puffy. This has never happened before. I have a formal event tomorrow and my dress is strapless with a lace-up back, so it shows a fair amount of skin. Usually my hives take at least a few days to settle down. Is there a way I can get rid of them really fast so I don't look like a troll tomorrow night?

Hives can leave as fast as they arrive. Your best bet is to go to the doctor and see if he'll give you a cortisone shot to clear it. And DON'T eat any more apples. Allergies usually get worse over time if you keep exposing yourself to large quantities of the allergen. The next time you eat an apple, you might get anaphylactic shock and end up in the hospital or dead.
