Question: I have HPV. Is this possible?

My boyfriend just found out he has HPV and I might possibly have it too. We haven't been with anyone else well at least I know I haven't been with anyone but him my entire life. He did sleep with someone about a year ago before me. Is it possible that he could have gotten it from her and it just now pop up? Or is there any other way I could have gotten it besides sex?

relax, not all HPV will cause cancer. Get tested. I had it when I was in my 20's, it went away on it's own, the only thing it did to me was cause one of my pap smears to be a little off, I didn't get cancer and the HPV is gone. Yes, it can go away. Also don't listen to the person that said you should have waited for marriage, there is nothing wrong with sex, it's natural, just make sure you use protection. Religious morals don't need to brought into health.

There are no tests for guys to take to see if they carry HPV. I don't exactly know how they get it or what causes it in them. Have you had the Gardisil shot? If you are in the age range, I would go get tested and get it. It will protect from some HPV, but not all. My advice.......use condoms. You just never know what could happen!

And to the person who said she should have waited for marriage.....that wouldn't keep her from getting it from him or someone else. Duhhhhhh

Sex is the only way. If you saved yourselves for marriage, this wouldn't be an issue.
