Which disease would you choose?!

Question: Which disease would you choose?
Hey everybody, Iv been assigned to do a coursework assignment in biology of 2000 words. I am looking for any "easy" disease or virus to describe and go into detail about, but most importantly has that has methods of treatment and solutions - preferably ones that work. It has to be one I can do good research on and get reliable data and sources.

PLEASE PLEASE suggest a disease that ill be able to cope with...... anything from tooth decay, foot and mouth to bilharzia and cancer.
And along with the disease could you give me a link or book that I could work on
Thank you!!

Answers:

Lung cancer, COPD, emphysema. It could be one or all three, actually four, because people who smoke or former smokers almost always have chronic bronchitis too. Tons of information, easy to look up. Years ago, believe it or not, people didn't know it was bad for you. They used to have advertisement in magazines, that my doctor recommends Camel Cigarettes! Really. It also used to be very "hip" and today it is frowned upon, big time!

It is pretty deadly, most people diagnosed with lung cancer will die from it within a year or two. Superman's wife had a kind that wasn't caused by smoking, but that would be harder to research.

Do your report on Lyme Disease. It's contracted through a tick bite and treated with doxicycline.

I didn't choose my disease lol but i have juvenile autoimmune pernicious anaemia (50 in a million shot...hey i can't win last division lotto though lol). I have hashimoto's thyroiditis too (found out 12% who have APA have this as well). Standard treatment is a B12 injection every 1 to 3 months for life. After a couple of weeks i feel fatigued..waiting even 1 month let alone 3 months? O_o. Despite being told by my specialist and doctor i could only have B12 injections, i did my research and now use sublingual (under the tongue) B12 oral spray daily - 2000mcg. Works for me i'm happy to say. :)

Autoimmune pernicious anaemia means the body is attacking the intrinsic factor (50 and 75% of patients with pernicious anemia have antibodies to IF), and parietal cells (stomach lining - 93% have antibodies to parietal cells) to prevent the body absorbing vitamin B12 in the gut. To add, i was misdiagnosed for decades and diagnosed myself. My red blood cells were normal even when severely deficient. It is shown 1/4 who have B12 deficiency have normal blood cells. Along with a poor B12 serum reference range (far too low), misdiagnosis of B12 deficiency from any cause is an epidemic. Some info should you decide you are interested.....
