A blood test result identifies I have something but my doctor didn't see it?!

Question:

A blood test result identifies I have something but my doctor didn't see it?

I've been struggling with an unknown illness for quite some time. Someone led me to the direction of Hughes Syndrome. I've been told from doctors that I most likely had MS. I was going to request the blood test given to rule out Hughes but after looking at my records. I had it done....It came out to the results that it would get if I indeed had Hughes. Why didn't my doctor catch this? This was my primary who recieved the results but a neurologist that had the blood test (many of them) done. Was it lost in translations? What do I do now? I can't tell her that this is what I have why didn't you know that!? I'm also pregnant and because this condition can negitively affect pregnancies I'm concerned.

Answers:

First off, go to see a high risk OBGYN. Also, if you have not already, take a daily aspirin. I'm so sorry for your struggle. Sadly many doctors worldwide see this as only a pregnancy problem. You can get treatment even without having had a clot during pregnancy. Not knowing what country you are in, I'm not sure of how easily you can switch doctors, so I see your chose as either asking directly, or switching Dr.s.
I have this disease and know horror stories from people. Feel free to email me. You are not alone!
