Quitting weed - wow this is easy?!

Question: Quitting weed - wow this is easy?
Hi all

I have given up weed for good, not smoked anything but a cigarette for 6 days now - was previously smoking heavily every evening and all day throughout the weekend and personally using about 1.5 oz per month. (over last 5-6 years) And apart from being a bit tense, some trouble getting to sleep, having quite vivid dreams and boredom I am feeling fine.

I gave up because it was costing me too much money, not because I was some saddo 'pothead' unable to function. I have always been happy, cheerful and done well at work (in fact most colleagues have never known I smoked it)

I thought this was supposed to be difficult? People treat cannabis addiction like heroin addiction - there are rehab clinics, special detox drinks, helplines for support! I have even read about lithium being used to help 'cure' people of their addiction Eh?? I wouldn't even class it as addictive, at least not physically addictive. I had more trouble when I tried to stop drinking coffee.

So to help me with the boredom, what is the biggest pile of crap you have ever heard about weed or drugs in general?

Answers:

I think it's whether you have pressures in life that are aided by your smoking dope as to whether it's easy or difficult to give it up. I have a good friend who hs smoked for years, but without it he is an anxiety ridden wreck, with it he's just chilled. If you were stable and happy before it, you will be that way without it, if you were using it to self-medicate for a personality or situational problem, then if that problem is unresolved you will find it difficult to be without your life-aid.

Glad you made it, now give up smoking then come back and tell us how easy that was :)
