Heart failure and breathing difficulty...?!

Question: Heart failure and breathing difficulty...?
If there is heart failure and breathing difficulty present when resting, does it get worse when exercising or better instead?

Answers:

Functional classification generally relies on the New York Heart Association Functional Classification. The classes (I-IV) are:
* Class I: no limitation is experienced in any activities; there are no symptoms from ordinary activities.
* Class II: slight, mild limitation of activity; the patient is comfortable at rest or with mild exertion.
* Class III: marked limitation of any activity; the patient is comfortable only at rest.
* Class IV: any physical activity brings on discomfort and symptoms occur at rest.
It appears that your patient comes under Class II or IV.
Possible Complications
* Irregular heart rhythms (can be deadly)
* Pulmonary edema
* Total heart failure (circulatory collapse)
Treatment includes diuretics, ACE inhibitors, angiotensin II receptor blockers, β-blockers, aldosterone antagonists, digitalis, specialized implantable pacemakers, and correction of the underlying disorder.
Implantable cardioverter-defibrillator may control irregular heart rhythms and prolong lifespan.

It will get better if you exercise because more red blood cells will flow therefore it will improve the blood circulation, and you tend to breathe much more better than before. Swimming is excellent for bones, heart, brain, lungs and it is beneficial fr your entire body.

hope that helps =]

It will get worse because your heart is full of fluid preventing oxygen being absorbed in the lungs. it's a bad idea until the heart failure has been treated.
