Acute sunburn on face is freaking me out?
Hi, any one knows what to do? I spent 10 days on hawaiin beaches and got bad sunburn, on face (cheeks turned red , burns when apply moisturiser). skin is peeling, I think I some age spots have appeared (none before), please help !!

It's too late to do much other than moisturize right now. At home even Vaseline will help in the peeling. An Aloe Vera based product will also help, as other people have mentioned. NOW, your next issue is prevention. Your days in the sun are over! That is for anyone. If you don't want skin like an elephant when you are older, then this is a must! Not to mention skin cancers. The 40 block is sold in the US, but the 60 block is way better. The ordering company is in Canada and they only charge $5.00 to ship no matter how much you order. Anthelios L is mad by La Roche-Posay in France, and it is the best product on the market, by far. Not greasy and no smell. I love it! It is an essential in my makeup kit. Bronzers are very "in" in the cosmetic industry and find yourself a good one, so you can have the look you want without the dangers. Guerlain makes a wonderful bronzer called Terracotta. It's expensive but worth it.

As far as the discoloration..there is a new treatment used by some dermotologists and a few plastic surgeons. It's called IPL light therapy. This will take care of the discolorations. Call around and see who is doing it in your area. I hope you will now stay out of the sun, as far as laying on beaches. In the future if you go to a place like Hawaii, enjoy board sailing, surfing, etc, but wear sun block and a hat. Best to even wear a wetsuit top if you can get one. They make warm water ones. Then when you are done playing sit under an umbrella if you must stay at the beach. Otherwise go do some indoor activity. I am a skier, and find that I must do these things to protect my skin.
