Possible allergy to long haired cats or something else?

My parents, including my sister, are all allergic to cats and dogs, except me. However, one day I was at my mom's friends house, and she has two long haired cats. While I was in her house, my throat suddenly began to get scratchy, and my nose started to get stuffy, and I kept sneezing every now and then. However, that didn't make any sense. Last time I was at my mom's friends house with the same two long haired cats (which was probably a couple of months ago), I was fine. Anyway, the first time I recognized my allergy for these long haired cats was when I visited a couple of weeks ago. But as soon as my father picked me up, my throat and my nose came back unclogged and non-scratchy. Well, I came back to the same house with the same cats, and again my throat started to scratch and my nose started to clog up. When I got home, I took a benadryl to reduce the scratchy throat. My throat has improved, but now it feels funny for every time I swallow liquid or food.

I'm not coughing, and my nose isn't that stuffy. It's just that it hurts a little when I swallow food and water. Should I go to the doctor to get this checked? Also, please take this question seriously.

no...I don't have problems breathing

It is very important that you go to the doctor because if you feels pain when swallowing, you might be having edema to the throat and that might disturb your breathing system. Do you have difficulty and pain upon breathing? If you do, it's a serious sign of medical problems.
