How long does an ear stay plugged feeling and crackly after an ear infection? I am on a second course of antibiotics now but my ear is still feeling full and crackly and ringing for like 3 weeks now and I am wondering if it can take this long to clear up??

have you been back to the doctor to have them check to see if there is still fluid behind it (thus making it feel full)? if you're not having any pain it may also be allergies. there are a lot of things that it could be and one can't really say without examining the ear....with that said it could be a continuing ear infection that may clear with this next round of antibiotics, you may need a stronger antibiotic, it could be allergies, it could be viral which won't respond to antibiotics, or if you have any hearing loss or dizziness associated with it could be mennier's disease. if it does not improve after this course of antibiotics i would go back to your doctor or possibly an ENT (ear nose and throat) doc.
