Do you have any information about cancer of the salivary glands?!

Question: Do you have any information about cancer of the salivary glands?
A dear friend of mine has been diagnosed with cancer of the salivary glands..She is in her 40's and she has never smoked or drank alcohol..It started with a small sore in her mouth about a year ago..Her doctor told her it was a canker sore..Doctors told her yesterday that it is a rare form of cancer and that there is not much they can do to stop it..Do you have any knowledge of this kind of cancer?..Anything you can tell me that will be helpful would be so appreciated..Thank you..

Answers:

It would be difficult to treat, and yes it is rare, so not much is known. the reason is that salivary glands are deep and throughout our mucus membranes - they can not be removed or treated without doing harm or damage don't let her give up - go see Cancer Treatment Centers.

Epidemiological studies found that heavy users of cell phones “showed significantly elevated risks” of parotid gland tumours. Sadetzki et al showed 49 percent increased risk of parotid gland tumors. Another, by Lonn et al, in 2006, found parotid gland increase of 160 percent (borderline significance).

“The parotid gland is a type of salivary gland — the one that is closest to the cheek next to where most people hold their cell phones. Interestingly, the new … data show no similar increases in the two other major types of salivary glands, the submandibular and sublingual glands that are further away from the phone.”
