I left salicylic acid on a small part of my face over night a while ago, sensiti!

Question: I left salicylic acid on a small part of my face over night a while ago, sensitive/flakes/redness still...?
So I left some salicylic acid on part of my face above my upper lip over night quite some time ago, since then my skin has periodically been really flakey and red and tender. Stupid mistake, I know, but is there anything I can do to aid my skin in the healing process or is it just going to take some time?

Answers:

Treat it like like a burn on your skin..get some benadryl to help with the skin reaction and swelling..Don't use any harsh cleansers or soap and also get some hydorcortisone cream to apply to area..You can get the benadryl and cream OTC at any store.

I used to think that was ok to do but all it does is dry up your skin. Just put face moisturizer on the area and basically it just takes time. Next time don't leave it on your face, its good to clean with but your not supposed to leave it on a concentrated area for a long time. Instead next time if you have a blemish, what I usually do is every other night sleep with toothpaste on it.. weird I know, but it dries it up also just not as much. Good luck!
