Help? Where can I get STD testing that's affordable?!

Question: Help? Where can I get STD testing that's affordable?
Where is a good affordable place to get panel tested for STD's in south central Pennsylvania? I looked up a bunch of these places and they're all charging like 300 dollars! Is this the norm? I only have a part time job and I'm a full time student... How can I get reliable test results that aren't a fortune?

Also, I just want to get a panel to start a yearly testing plan, just to be safe. I have never had any symptoms and always practiced safe sex, otherwise I'd get just one specific test. So I just want to test for a bunch of them at one time. Thanks!

Congrats to you for taking a proactive approach to your health! You mention that you are a full time student. Could you visit the health center on your campus? Is there a Planned Parenthood in your area? Is there a Free Clinic close to you? There are also county health agencies that will provide testing for a nominal price.

You can also check out some of the national AIDS coalitions to find links to places that offer free HIV testing. Hope this helps! If you are looking for more info on health conditions, you can check out my link below. Thanks!

AVOID PLANNED PARENTHOOD. They don't do free testing. I was quoted at $80+ for STD testing at a local Planned Parenthood. And their exam options were confusing to me.

Ask your campus health department if they give free STD screenings. Some schools do. Otherwise, try to find a local state department health clinic. There's a good chance they'll offer free STD screenings. Good luck!

Personal experience

You can check the website hivtest.org to find free testing sites in your area. Just enter your ZIP code. Some places, such as Planned Parenthood, usually charge a fee based on your income.

I do HIV education and testing.

for student - To have sex only in ways that do not spread major STDs. Kissing, sensuous touching and mutual masturbation are safe in terms of all serious STDs or Not to have sex at all.

contact your local community clinic...and ask about a sliding scale fee....way less in cost.
