High blood pressure but normal cholesterol?!

Question: High blood pressure but normal cholesterol?
I am 19 years old. Everyone in my family has high blood pressure. My mom, dad and grandma. For the last couple of months I have had high blood pressure. It started when I was sick for a while, but later found out I have a thyroid disorder(hypothyroid). My cholesterol is fine. I don't want to take medication. Is it hereditary? Could hypothyroidism have something to do with it?

Answers:

Illness in general raises your blood pressure. Certainly hypothyroidism can raise your blood pressure too. See your doctor if you continue to have high readings.

that is serious problem. While i was commando in Kenya i saw people dying because they had high pressure but no colesterol.Try popping your eyes out, maybe it would work.
