Question: I had a hematoma (tumor) removed on Thursday - it ITCHES. What can I do?
It was removed at a dermatologist office. They bandaged it up, and told me to keep the bandage on it for 24 hours, wash it twice a day, and keep petroleum jelly on it to keep it from scabbing over. But it is itching SO BADLY!! What can I do?

Answers:

Try an antihistamine cream - available from pharmacies.
Things always seem to itch when they are healing.

A hematoma is swelling from a collection of blood in the tissue due to an injury, it is NOT a tumor. What exactly did you have here? Itching is probably from the healing, keep the ointment on it.
