Answers:

Magnapen, now better known by its generic name Co-fluampicil, is a combination of ampicillin and flucloxicillin. It is a very old and seldom used combined antibiotic. Flucloxicllin is still in common use, but ampicillin is now rarely prescribed as it has quite frequent gastrointestinal side effects and commonly causes a specific ampicillin only ( not penicillin ) allergy rash.

In circumstances where it used to be used flucloxicillin is now given with either penicillin V or occasionally amoxicillin.
